Making Connections: College Connection Kick-Off Day For more than 25 years, Showa Boston’s College Connection Program has helped our students experience American college life and build connections with local college students. Local university students with interest in Japan have the opportunity to form friendships with and learn from our students. This fall, we have College Connectors (CCs) from @bostonu @bostoncollege @emmanuelcollege @simmonsuniversity @northeastern and @umassboston! At our recent Kick-Off Day on campus, our students met their CCs and began building relationships for the semester ahead. Through classroom visits, campus events, and shared experiences, our students can explore college life in the U.S. while learning from their American peers. We thank our CCs and partner colleges for welcoming our students and making these opportunities possible. How can we improve the health and well-being of mothers and children, both locally and around the world? 🌎 We are honored to feature Professor Aya Goto of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, in our Showa Boston Presents series! Drawing on her work in maternal and child health research and education, Dr. Goto will explore how connecting communities in Japan and around the world can help advance health and well-being. On October 8, we were thrilled to welcome over 60 students from @bostonu, @umassboston, @wellesleycollege, @northeastern, @simmonsuniversity, @bunkerhillcc, @emmanuelcollege, @massart, and @wentworthinst, for our first Japan College Night! The visiting college students joined around 100 of our students for a Japanese dinner and conversation, followed by a reception. Students shared their interests and experiences relating to Japan and the U.S., ranging from college life, food, music, anime, and other topics. We look forward to hosting more Japan College Nights in the future to promote cultural exchange, build peer relationships, and strengthen connections across campuses.
